“I was searching for an affordable, nice, reliable place to get pink highlights done, and this place exceeded my expectations! They gave me exactly what I asked for, and their services were great! I left the place super happy with the purchase! The treatment was explained to me very thoroughly and they respected my request to use no bleach. Elodie was so kind and fun to chat with, and made the treatment so so enjoyable! I left with my hair being so so healthy and shiny and they did exactly what I asked for! I also got a really nice head massage when my hair was being washed! I would rate this place more if I could! I had an amazing experience and will 100% be coming back!“

“Pearl was so amazing!! I came here to rent a tea ceremony outfit and they had so many beautiful options. She really helped narrow down the choices for me as I was indecisive. I even briefly regretted not renting a wedding dress from them as they had such lovely bridal options. They have alteration services, which I'm grateful for as I found my dress quite close to the wedding date. It was altered perfectly and turnaround time was short. The price for the rental and alteration were very reasonable. Hopefully, I'll never have to use her services again ?...but I definitely would not hesitate to come back here.“

“I went to Lumo salon with my hair in pretty rough shape – the cuticles were all lifted, and the ends were badly damaged. But Shane completely transformed it.

He smoothed everything out so beautifully that my hair now flows sleek and shiny, like silky seaweed. It feels light, healthy, and so soft that I can’t stop touching it?

What impressed me even more was how careful and attentive he was during the cut and overall styling He really took his time to make sure the length was exactly what I wanted, which made me feel so reassured.

“Freelance Makeup Program – 2025

I recently graduated from the Freelance Makeup Program at Blanche Macdonald Spring 2025, and my experience was positive from start to finish.

From the moment I reached out for information, everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive. One of the main reasons I chose Blanche was the structure of the program, it’s designed to meet students at different experience levels, which made me feel confident I was in the right place.

The program starts with a foundation in makeup fundamentals, and from there, you're able to apply what you’re learning through volunteer opportunities coordinated by the Career Department. These opportunities really helped me build confidence, improve my skills, and gain real-world experience.

Each module is led by a different instructor, which I found genuinely valuable. Learning from artists with a range of backgrounds and approaches gave me a broader perspective and helped me discover what techniques and styles work best for me. The program is very hands-on from the start, so I was able to apply what I was learning right away and continue building my skills as the program progressed.

What I appreciated most was how Blanche supports students in finding their own path as makeup artists. They focus not only on technical skill and professionalism but also on helping you discover your style and voice in the industry.

If you’re considering Blanche Macdonald, I highly recommend reaching out and exploring what they offer. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me along the way, especially Jennifer Dott from Admissions, Heather Sosa and Jenn Brown from the Career Department, and Darcy Madrigga, Associate Director, who also taught our Social Media module, which was a standout experience for our class.“
