I have a 40 year-old car that wouldn't crank, and several possible electrical faults that could be causing the problem. The Insta Mek technician was prompt, personable, and had figured things out in less than 5 minutes. It was a humbling experience, but it saved me plenty of headaches and possibly money on parts that did not need to be changed. He had the good grace to share credit with his terrific diagnostic tools, and to recommend where to find the parts I did need. Exactly the kind of professional service I had hoped for.
I requested a pre-purchase used car check-up in the morning and it was done by that afternoon and I had the complete and quite thorough report by late in the day - a very thorough overall review at the general going rate for such things. Needless to say I was very pleased with how quickly they were able to come out, when it would have take a month to get in to BCAA. They don't review spark plugs or the engine as far as I can see, but they do most of what is needed to make an informed decision.
