The array of beautifully hand made carpets that lie on the floor piled up by the hundreds is a sight to behold Over the years, I have purchased many gifts here, including little bags, incense, carpets and woolen sock slippers hand made in Afghanistan Because the owner knows the carpet makers, the money goes directly into their pockets, as many are family members and close friends from tribal areas hard to access. This is fair trade at its finest, without meddling NGOs.
