At Zara's Hair & Beauty Salon

I have been going to At Zara's Hair and Beauty Salon for many years now. The Salon is conveniently located and finding a place to park has never been a problem. Minoo always provided great service and I have always been happy and satisfied with the work she does - haircut , hair color and even hair keratin treatment. I cannot imagine going anywhere else! Highly recommend.

Today I got my haircut again and I absolutely loved it! She always knows exactly what works best for me and pays so much attention to detail.

Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also one of the kindest and sweetest people ever. The whole experience always feels welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a hairstylist they can truly trust ✨

I went to this place for both body and facial waxing.
Unfortunately, the waiting time was very long. In my experience, the person who did the body waxing did not seem very experienced. Even though I was charged full price (more than some other places), the hair was not properly removed from the root and was mostly cut. Also, my hand got bruised during the service.

Overall, I was disappointed with the service and did not have a positive experience. I would not recommend this place for waxing services. I also found the manager’s behavior to be unprofessional and disrespectful.

I confirm that all services mentioned were performed at your salon located at 928 Brunette Ave, Coquitlam. Part of the payment was requested in cash and part was made via bank transfer under your business name.

The body waxing was done by a staff member in your establishment, as directed by the owner, and my facial waxing and eyebrows were done directly by the owner.

It is surprising to see this being denied. In addition, the behavior I experienced afterward was unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of addressing the issue or offering an apology, my experience has been dismissed.
I am simply sharing my honest experience.

I got there and the staff were confused with what I was getting from the start. I called for my appointment asking for a wash and cut. When I walked in I said I’m here for my wash and cut. After they washed my hair they asked me how I wanted it styled while blow drying my hair. When I clarified it was a cut she seemed surprised and stopped blowdrying and went to prepare me for a cut. The hairdresser next to my stylist asked me what I wanted and I said I would tell her when she’s back but insisted I told her. I said I wanted to keep the length, only cut an inch and a half, and for front framing PIECES. She relayed this message to my stylist when she came back in their language so I’m not sure how she described what I wanted. It doesn’t look bad but it just isn’t what I asked for. I’ve been growing my hair for 4 years and it was finally at a length that I loved and I just wanted a trim with some dimension. For reference, my hair used to go down to my belly button. Instead, I got full frontal layers from the middle of my head to the front. I didn’t want such a large bulk of hair to be layered but only the very front pieces, which could have been easily clarified from the start if either stylist asked me more questions. The cut isn’t bad but I just wished they asked more questions about what I wanted instead of assuming. I feel bad about writing this review but I am quite unhappy. I also came here for a cut last year and it was a good one, which is why I thought this time would be the same.

I went to get my nails done this week for the first time at Zara’s Hair & Beauty Salon. The nail tech was sweet, however I was very disappointed with the quality of her work. She had expressed to me that she’s been doing nails for 10 years, so I never expected the outcome. I had brought an inspiration picture with me and showed it to the tech which never mentioned it was something beyond her expertise. She did inform me that the cost for the gel extensions would be more expensive since it’s more time consuming. I never expected it to take 2 hours. When i usually get my nails done the exact shape and colour at other salons it only takes about 1hr max. At this point I was too stunned to say anything (and quite frankly upset). I had to be somewhere afterwards and was not going to stay longer to get them removed. I tried to trust the process but when I got outside in the lighting I could see that the polish was pooling at the cuticles, and the chrome was streaky, and the placement of a few of the extensions were crooked. The next day I had to get my nails fixed at another studio as I didn’t feel comfortable going back to her to get them fixed. My nails tech was stunned by the poor quality and messiness. Paying nearly $100 for the nails and that being the result is absolutely unacceptable.
