I am very unhappy with the service. Everyone was nice and the garment was done on time. However... They did a really crummy job. I sew but was nervous about altering my daughter's prom dress. So I paid the $34 to have it done by Mendel's. When I got home from picking the dress up there were several problems. One - a piece of the applique fell off when I pulled it out of the bag (this was supposed to be reattached after they shortened the straps). Two- they did not do what they said they were going to. When I dropped the dress off they said it was a little more because they had to undo a portion of the dress and tuck the straps in. All they did was fold the straps and sew them. Three- the sewed one strap straight and one crooked and thread was all bunched up like their machine jammed and they just left it. I could have done a better job and ended up having to resew both straps. I do not recommend taking your clothes here.

Great experience from beginning to end. The people who assisted me were professional, kind, thoughtful and clear. It was suggested to take the clothing in differently than I imagined, which saved me at least $20. I was given a timeframe for completing the work and it was finished early. I'll definitely be going back.

This is by far the worst experience I've had with alterations. I asked for a simple hem and seam repair with dry cleaning for two pair of pants. I also had an additional two pair that I brought just for dry cleaning. All items were brought in at the same time but they didn't qualify for the 3+ clothing discount because Mendel's Wife The Tailor and Sparkle Cleaners are two "different" businesses. Which is quite a weird response since they printed identical tickets on both registers. Regardless, I go to pick up the two pair of pants that were just to be dry cleaned and there was a stain that wasn't present before I dropped it off. Then, when I go to pick up the other two pair for alterations and dry cleaning I received an voicemail that morning for additional charges for a service I never gave permission for. To make matters worse they never even dry cleaned my clothing. Which at this point is fine because they obviously do not do good work. This is a warning for you to save your money and find another tailor/cleaners in town that will do quality work and value their customers.
