Happened upon the place doing a u-turn and decided to see if they took walk-ins. It was my lucky day and they took me in immediately and I got a great new cut from Velia. I told her how I wanted it cut and she did a fantastic job!
I have been "taking care" of my own hair since covid and finally decided it was time to find someone that actually knew what they were doing. Chatted with Sandy on the phone and she was very friendly! She was even better when I came in. She listened to what I thought I wanted, gave some great advice, and I walked out extremely satisfied with her artistry! Thank you Sandy!
Velia gave me an excellent cut and perm for $85. She was very thorough and meticulous wrapping the rods, alternating sizes for a natural look. I have learned from experience that cutting the hair before applying chemicals works best. Also after the perm is finished, a light application of mousse and gently running your fingers through the curls is all that is needed. No comb-out! No fussing! Velia uses Square for payments or cash. She is easy-going and pleasant to chat with. Very personable. This is a tiny, nicely-appointed 4-chair salon adjacent to a Subway. Parking is a breeze. The tiny reception area is stocked with treats and snacks, with Bigelow's flavored teas in a hot beverage section. A Hand-sanitizer station guards the front door, along with a magazine rack. At the back is an attractive Powder Room. The regulars seem to love this place! The location is a stone's throw from Orange Grove and N Thornydale, on the opposite side of the street from Wendy's and Sam Levitz. Subway faces Thornydale and the salon is next-door. Also the reason I tried a different salon: the last one drenched my back in water during the shampoo, then blamed me for it! At Heavenly Hair, the shampoo bowls have a neck rest above the shampoo bowl that does the job of keeping the water in the bowl, not running down the client's back!
