The one star is warranted, I think this was the worst wax experience I've ever had and I've had a few unfortunately. The owner/waxer did not use gloves while performing a Brazilian which I was so taken aback by that I somehow convinced myself that maybe no one does and was trying to remember past experiences, however it made me extremely uncomfortable. This was following the owner sharing she was an instructor and that they are very diligent in sanitation either in her teachings or in the way she was thought which was quite ironic to say the least.
The room was not comfortable, tidy, pleasant to look at, and I was not given time or space to undress nor given a sanitary napkin to use prior which is pretty standard in my experience.
The conversation was awkward and unnatural, which honestly is the least of my concerns but didn't help the situation.
I'm not sure how the ratings are so high although I see they are quite spread out timewise, one like 8 years ago. The wax itself was bad, leftover hairs and I had to ask her to put down multiple strips due to obvious leftovers. All areas touched without gloves......
Truly, please find a waxer you love like I did (my lady moved back to my area thank goodness) and don't settle. Also, speak up if they're not wearing gloves -- that's not normal, and is a bit crazy actually.
