My father and I visited Thunderbird VA for his first appointment with an eye doctor through the VA system. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jayne Isidro, an Optometrist Technician, who impressed us with her professionalism and openness. She handled my 96-year-old father, who has hearing difficulties, with great care and was able to communicate effectively with him. Our experience continued positively when we met Student Dr. Grace, who was equally kind and gentle with my father. Dr. Grace, as a student doctor, demonstrated remarkable skill and competence. Was seen at the VA Thunderbird Clinic Optometry. Was called back ahead of my appointment time. The Dr was great and spent time doing her exam of my eyes after the testing done by the technician. Then I waited about 30min to get my glasses ordered for me. All the staff were very nice and professional, with no issues. Seen some fellow vets showing up without appointment and the nice ladies at the reception desk were able to fit them in between appointments, now that's above and beyond service kudos to them. Highly recommend this clinic for your optometry needs.
This is an excellent VA facility. The location isn't great, but the doctors and staff are cordial and professional. Most people complaining were there without an appointment - there's no excuse. Go to VA.com and set it up!
