But honestly, after my visit to Sister Sister African Braiding, I'm convinced they've already mastered the next best thing: superhuman speed! I walked in expecting to spend five hours getting my box braids done, but to my surprise, in less than 1.5 hours, my hair was braided and they were already adding the finishing touches. Two professional braiders started on my hair a little after 8:05 AM, and by 9:38 AM, they were prepping the curls at the ends. Even the other clients were amazed -- and trust me, I have thick hair! Prices for box braids start around $200, and if you request two braiders at once, the cost may be a bit higher -- but totally worth it for the speed and quality. I was able to get an appointment here last minute for singles. I asked for either Senegalese twists or knotless, but was told since my hair was so short- split second decision for a big chop- I should get box braids. I wanted low tension braids with not a lot of hair added. I had two braider at the same time, which was fantastic! Initially I had to reiterate to not braid so tight- I want to keep my edges. Aside from that- awesome experience! Next vacation- I'll be back!
This place is legit. Professional braiders who are very detailed and take their work seriously. My braider was amazing she took her time and did quality work. It took about 7 hours, I got medium sized knotless braids. They were well done and lasted a long time.
