“I have extreme dental anxiety. Cleanings make my anxiety around a 6/10 and anything above that inspire panic attacks. I was referred to them by the VA and had very little faith that the VA would send me to a good provider. I was referred for a lot of work that needed to be completed. First I had a cleaning and the dental hygienist listened to my concerns and gave me a step by step of what she was doing. This was the most gentle dental cleaning I’ve ever had. Previous cleanings I’ve had were rough, constant bleeding of my gums, and felt like they were pulling teeth instead of cleaning them. I had zero bleeding gums and my mouth wasn’t sore once they finished. The doctor came in for my exam and went over my treatment plan and how they planned to phase my dental restoration. I spoke about my dental anxiety and the doctor agreed to not torture me and will be giving me medication to help. Previously I had to be sedated to get dental work done. The dentist was kind and understanding and agreed to get me as comfortable as possible for my procedure. I feel seen and heard.“
