This review is to make the owner of the salon aware of something she may be uneducated on.

I've been coming to this salon to see a wonderful lash artist named Esmarelda of Inked Aesthetics.  Being a former lash artist myself I've done my research on products, after care, retention, and even things most are less familiar with like temperature control and humidity and how it affects the adhesives ability to bond properly to the lashes.  In the year I've had lashes and been coming to Esmarelda we've periodically had issues with the owner of the salon, Soco, turning off the air conditioner causing excessive heat and humidity to occur.

Lash glues need to be kept in an environment below 70 degrees, ideally 55-68 degrees to properly cure.  When Soco is constantly turning off the air it makes the lash glue bottles spoil, turn hard and gummy, and affects the wear and the quality control of the service itself.  This has forced me to return only days after my appointment many times with lashes falling out in clumps and it's wasted time and money for both my lash tech and myself.

The issue is not the service provider, technique, or product, it is simply an out of touch salon owner who doesn't seem to understand the importance of temperature control or perhaps (hopefully not) she has malicious intent to sabotage her renter's business.

I also wanted to make the salon owner aware of unprofessional behavior from one of her recently hired cosmetologists.  Within this woman's first few days at the salon she greeted me and told me my lash artist had stepped out and was unavailable but I could wait with her.  I thanked her and politely chatted with her about what she does and her background.  While talking to her she shared that she also offers lashes and nails.  I told her that was awesome and looked forward to seeing her work on her clients.  She then proceeded to tell me why my nails and lashes were not up to her standard and showed me her chunky, lumpy, unbalanced acrylics she had on her hands and tried to tell me I need to go thicker "so they hold".  I've had no issues with my nails the last 3 years I've been going to New Moon Nails in Mesa.

This felt like an attempt to steal a client from another service provider by putting down other people's work.  It was off-putting and seemed to come from the new stylists desperation to gain new clients and money which she previously spoke about.  After 20 minutes my lash artist walked out of her room and was surprised to see me waiting, she never stepped out at all, the new stylist deliberately lied to me to attempt to better her own business.

I'm open to updating my review on the salon if they take the necessary steps to do right by all the clients and service providers who come into their space.  I hope that they are open to learning from my experience and using it to address issues and better their business.
