Some visitors have expressed disappointment with the current appearance, noting that the grass looks dead and the trees are not thriving, with reports of no watering for months. However, there are also heartfelt stories about loved ones being laid to rest peacefully, and appreciation for the staff's efforts to address issues promptly and go above and beyond to care for the resting places. Families have taken it upon themselves to maintain their loved ones’ burial sites, especially when repairs have been delayed. The cemetery's appearance has reportedly declined over time, prompting some to feel it no longer meets expectations for a respectful resting place. Recently, improvements have been noted, such as healthier grass and the replacement of old, dead trees. Visitors are encouraged to share concerns with staff, as positive change often begins with respectful communication. The cemetery offers options like placing three urns in one plot and provides an 800 number for counseling, which is available for one year, offering support during difficult times. There are also benches where up to four cremations can be placed, allowing families to memorialize loved ones personally. Preplanning your mother's funeral is not an easy task but Jose Vargas at Resthaven West made the burden smooth and easier than expected. He was very polite and sensative to what I wanted for my mom. Nothing I asked was too much trouble. Most of my family are either already buried there or will be so their reputation is solid. I recommend asking for Jose if you need a person to help you with Preplanning a funeral and burial.
My mom passed away in 2022 and we had her buried at Resthaven in a new section of the cemetery and by a beautiful tree.
I am very DISAPPOINTED on how they have taken care of the area she was buried. The grass is dry and the tree is bare. We have called MANY times to the General Manager and we get various excuses (e.g., water restrictions, new landscape company, etc.) why this is area is not maintained.
We paid over $20K for her plot and cant understand why they cant maintain the entire cemetery the same.
Drive around and you'll notice dead trees and dry grass.
