I drive 6 hours since we have moved to being our pets back to the best vet! They may not be fancy, but I have had fancy and had horrible - I will take kind, knowledgable and competent any day. Don’t hesitate a moment to use Alex, he is awesome and his staff actually cares.“

14300 Cantrell Rd #101, Little Rock“On May 6, 2026, I made the heartbreaking decision to take my heart dog, Charlie, in for emergency care after weeks of watching his health decline. He had stopped eating, was becoming weaker each day, and despite multiple vet visits, medications, and trying absolutely everything we could think of to help him, this momma knew deep down that something was seriously wrong.
That day, I left work early because I could no longer sit by and hope things would somehow improve. Charlie needed real help. I first went to a local emergency vet, only to be turned away because they were no longer accepting ER patients. Desperate to help my baby, I searched for another option nearby and found this clinic.
From the moment we walked through the doors, everything felt different. We were immediately brought into a room, paperwork was started, and the staff quickly requested Charlie’s medical records from our regular veterinarian. Dr. Skinner took the time to thoroughly review everything and carefully examine Charlie herself.
When Dr. Skinner returned to speak with us, I already knew in my heart what she was going to say. For the first time throughout this entire journey, someone truly listened. She compassionately explained what she saw in his records and on his ultrasound, and she confirmed what I had feared all along — Charlie was very sick, and his condition had progressed beyond what could realistically be treated without extensive hospitalization, with no guarantee of recovery.
While hearing that news shattered my heart, I cannot express enough gratitude for the kindness, honesty, and compassion Dr. Skinner and her staff showed us during the hardest moments of our lives. In just a few short hours, they treated Charlie — and us — with more empathy and genuine care than we had experienced throughout months of searching for answers.
Do I believe Charlie would have lived forever if his concerns had been taken seriously earlier? No. But I do believe his condition may have been managed differently before it progressed this far. That is a painful reality I will carry with me.
Making the decision to let Charlie go was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but Dr. Skinner and her team made sure we understood every step of the process. We were never dismissed, rushed, or brushed aside. We were heard. We were informed. We were treated with compassion and dignity.
From the bottom of this broken dog momma’s heart, thank you for caring for my sweet Charlie with such tenderness in his final moments. I will never forget the love and kindness you showed us that day.“

“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this clinic. During the recent winter storm, one of my dogs had a medical emergency and Pleasant Valley was the only open clinic I could find in town. They were able to fit us in for a same-day appointment. Unfortunately, we had to put my sweet girl down. Everyone at this clinic was incredibly kind, compassionate and respectful throughout the whole process. Everything was handled with the utmost professionalism and empathy. The few phones calls and interactions since my girl has passed have also been very thoughtful and kind. I just can't say enough good things about this clinic and the way they treated both me and, more importantly, my sweet Reese. Thank you to everyone who works here for the compassion you show animals and their humans“
