“I’ve been wearing prescription eyeglasses since the age of 5-6yrs. Over time I noticed that the independent privately owned eyeglass stores have been disappearing. Unfortunately, they’ve largely been replaced by the chain-stores, the ones you find inside malls or strip-plazas. I tried one of those places once and did not have a good experience. IMHO, you’re lucky if you find somebody who’s knowledgeable or even cares about your eyewear needs when you visit one of those stores. I went to Owen’s Optical for the first time and told Mike (Owner) that I want a frame that is similar to what I already have. Within 5 min, he found 2 frames for me to look at. Both were a very close match and felt great when I tried them on. Mike knows his stuff, is very patient and is just an all around excellent guy. He worked with my insurance and I ended up purchasing a new pair of glasses at a very reasonable price. If you live anywhere in the River Region and have any sort of eyeglass needs (prescription, luxury sunglasses, sports goggles, whatever), I would definitely stop by and speak to Mike, or at least give him a call. My only regret is that I didn’t visit Owen’s years ago. Thanks Owen’s Optical!!!“

“**Long Wait Times**

I've been purchasing contact here for over ten years. The Costco optical department has great prices compared to other places that sell contacts/eyeglasses. However, the wait times can be extremely long.

Their customer service when they finally get around to you is great. I’ve only had one experience with a worker at this location who provided below-average customer service.

I highly recommend they add more service members to this department then it would be top-tier. Nevertheless, I will continue shopping here!! It's home for me!“
