About University Fitness Center (UFC)
The University Fitness Center (UFC) is a community-friendly gym that offers a variety of amenities and equipment to its members. The staff is described as very friendly and helpful, and the facility is known for its cleanliness and convenient supplies. The gym caters to families and the local community, providing a space for various activities and events. Despite the positive reviews, there are a few areas that could use improvement. Some members have expressed disappointment with the removal of a popular piece of equipment, the bench press. Additionally, the limited Sunday hours, from 1 pm to 5 pm, have been a concern for students who have work and school commitments during the week. Overall, the University Fitness Center is a well-regarded facility that offers a range of fitness options and a welcoming environment for its members. The staff's commitment to health and safety, even during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, is particularly commendable.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Very clean space with handy, convenient supplies to help guests be mindful of others. Very nice variety of equipment. Family friendly location that serves the community. With covid activity continually going on, it's nice to see the staff still committed to health and safety - DaShawn and Emma were the superstars I caught shining... thanks for that... it means alot!Thank you!
I used to go here seven days a week, training with my marine recruit buddy. I continued to do so for another year or so and then the gym got rid of my favorite machine: the bench press which couldn't drop weight on you. I went from benching 140 to 275 using it, I loved it, and then it was gone. It seems like a simple reason to leave, but between that and the rowing machines I was done.
I just switched to this gym from planet fitness after my husband started working for the university. I am enjoying it so far and there are a lot of amenities like fitness classes, a track, and a lap pool. Because they are involved in the community, there are times when camps/other events are taking place there, which can be distracting when you are trying to work out.
