I trained for 2 years at Maverick. You will truly get the best training around Huntsville and in Alabama. The facility is spotless at all times and the expected hygiene standards are always upkept. Maverick offers a variety of classes that allowed me to train at flexible times, as my schedule changed often. This is a family owned gym and the owners are all blackbelts. They do this for a living. So whether you're looking to compete - you will always have a coach in your corner. Or you just want to train casually - you will always have a knowledgeable coach. Suzanne Evan and Julia are people I have known and maintained friendship with for 16 years and are some of the most caring and passionate coaches and students of martial arts I’ve ever met in my life. They genuinely care about helping you reach your goals whatever they may be competing, general fitness/healthier lifestyle. As a veteran I can tell you they are very invested in the community they are a part of and do as much as they are able to provide a safe location for all levels of students to learn and feel welcome and included in the group, it really is like a family vibe here. Everyone supports one another. This is the only place I would train personally.
As a visitor to the area and to Maverick, I was warmly welcomed by Professor Suzanne, her coaches, and her students. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of instruction I received from Professor Evan, and all of the students I met and trained with were excellent training partners. As a long-time practitioner, I would recommend this school to anyone of any age or experience level whose looking for a fun, safe environment where they can train and grow.
