DogWatch of North Alabama

The owner is amazing!! He knows everything about keeping your dog in your yard!! He listens to your needs and does his best!!!
Never have I encountered someone who works so hard to make his customs happy!!!

Our newest family member is an absolute escape artist. Gus doesn’t want to be lost or alone; he’s just a highly energetic young fella who wants to be closer to what he sees on the other side of our fence. Six foot privacy fence did not keep him contained. Our lives were altered to the point that one of us always stayed at home to supervise him (and take him with if we needed to leave the house).

The previous owners of our home had the DogWatch system in place for their furbaby, but other than having the wall mounted control area present, we had no way of knowing where its boundaries were set, or if it was still operational. Also, truth be told, we’d used a collar and handheld corrector with Gus and it hadn’t been effective because we simply couldn’t follow him 24/7– so we didn’t think an invisible boundary would contain him.

The day DogWatch came to our home, they installed new boundaries that match our fenced area. (We did not enclose the yard to our property lines.) It took ONE session with the technician for Gus to understand and respect his boundaries. After a few days of cautious hesitation on his part, he did not want to experience correction from the collar, he gained confidence and is back to full throttle. He’s as silly and energetic as ever, but has not tested his boundary. Not even once. I can’t even articulate the relief our family feels. We live in the country and have regular visits from deer and other beautiful residents of the mountains around us. There are predators nearby, as well as speeding drivers on the roads. Since the day our DogWatch system was installed, our adventurer, Gus, has not so much as tried to broach the boundary—-not even with an open gate.

THANK YOU, DogWatch. We highly recommend this specific system and company. If we can save anyone else the frustration and fear we had, we will!

UPDATE 11/2024 16 months later

It’s been 16 months since our original review and things are still wonderful! Still no attempt at crossing the boundary—even when we’ve neglected to put the system collar on him. (We don’t purposely leave it off, that’s just irresponsible. There are simply occasions when the dog door hasn’t been opened at the crack of dawn.)

We have a 4 yr old beagle that I thought no fence would keep him in he was digging under chain link. We had Dogwatch installed about 1 month and he has not got out any not even when another dog is walking up the street or chasing a cat out of garage. I would highly recommend this system for any pet you want to keep in.
