My mother died tragically and unexpectedly on April 1, 2026. She had been here, out of town, watching one of our children. We were not prepared in the least to make arrangements for my mother's body nor had we done this previously. We were out of our element. I immediately thought of Ridout because they are just up the road from us and I had been to services for other's loved ones there. They greeted me warmly and explained all of our options clearly, despite my general overwhelm. I called back with questions when I was not sure how to proceed.
