Dr. LaRussa worked me in for an appointment shortly after I called his staff. I told the staff I could wait because I probably just needed prescription drops to help get particles out of my eye. They suggested I come on in saying he would want to take a look.
Well, that look turned into surgery after he immediately called UAB Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital and arranged for me to have same day surgery. Without the quick diagnosis and surgery I could have quickly and permanently lost vision in my eye.

Great experience. Dr. LaRussa diagnosed my problem after a thorough exam. He saw I was not pleased with my diagnosis and was kind enough to share his experience with the same. At the end of the visit he had me laughing about the condition.Because of my confidence in Dr. LaRussa and his recommendations I followed up with a ophthalmologist colleague of his and couldn't be more pleased. My appointment with Dr. LaRussa was in March and yesterday was my surgery. I now see 20/25! I haven't had that vision score since my mid-twenties. Looking forward to showing off my vision skills at the post-surgery follow-up exam with Dr. LaRussa!
