Update May 15, 2026 - stopped in for a cut today, same great place. I had a different barber, but he did a great job, exactly as I requested.
Recently I traveled to Athens for a few days and needed a haircut. What a gem! The best hair cut I’ve had in years, and the staff is so pleasant. The next time I go to Athens I’m going back to Shireman’s !

Tammy parents cut my hair since I was a kid they would take photos and hang them on mirrors . Very special family just got a haircut yesterday by tammy she's very loyal to her customers not telling my age but it's been a long time

Shireman's Barbershop has been our only barber since moving to Athens and finding Mrs. Becky. She is always on time, does excellent work, treats my sons with such kindness, and always makes them look their best even accommodating their personal hairstyle choices. Every experience at the shop has been excellent and I think it exemplifies some of the best of Athens-- community focused, excellent customer service and you feel like family. Today I was able to observe Mrs. Becky gently, carefully and with the utmost respect and concern care and style one of her older clients-- she is a true gem!
