I like the variety of products Ulta has, but the customer service needs some work. When I entered the store, three associates were at the counter (no customers), and usually an associate greets the customer. Didn't happen, but I figured they were in a meeting. I wandered around the store for 10 minutes, and there was no offer of assistance. I walked by three associates in the store who were chatting with each other (maybe they were in a meeting) and no one acknowledged or asked if I needed help. Ulta was fine until today. I’ve noticed a bit of rudeness from some associates before, but I usually brushed it off — until now.
When I went to check out, the store was swamped (understandable for a weekend in Fairbanks). A cashier called me over to her empty register, so I patiently waited, but another associate stepped in and helped her instead. When the cashier told her she had it handled and was calling two people at a time, the associate replied that she was only helping because the line was long. I just kept thanking the associate who stepped in, because she was actually trying to move things along.
UPDATE: I had decided to come back to the store after a year or so as we don’t have many other options for high end makeup stores here, and it was a pleasant experience. I’m not sure if it’s because I went in at a busy time or what, but the staff was super knowledgeable and helpful in helping me look for the right moisturizer. It’s looking like they hired on new people and have a new face which is awesome! I can’t wait to spend more money in here.
Every time I come in here they look at me like I’m about to steal something just because I take my time down the isles I’ve even heard one lady in there say “we’ve got another one”... read full review
