“My dresser was Nicole.
Loved how the curls themselves looked. I asked for a face frame, some layers and trim, moderate smile on the bottom. I was wanting the ringlets to have more spring, and the top to better embrace its volume.
Nicole overall did a good job. Loved to talk and share her experiences, asked me some questions about me and my family. Her lingo was a little different than how I’d hear some other hairdressers describe- I’ve wanted to know what my curl type is, or coarseness to know what kind of cut or products would generally best look complimentary with. She said curls can have more than one type or chan change so she didn’t bother with the scales of ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘C’ etc. curls. She admitted she was more intuitively versed with descriptions like ‘spring’, ‘coil’, ‘wave’ etc.

I like how springy the curls became, more defined. But there was a spot on the back to the right sides where I think she took a chunk out that removed the even smile I had. (Seen from the behind shot photo.)
My only other feedback was that I would like a little more check-ins. I understand proficient and quick pace are necessary, but at times I think like some other physical professions, it can lead to discomfort if done too forcefully. Some times it would hurt with the pressure or quickness applied. Asking the guest:
“Is this pressure okay for you?”
“How is this looking so far?”
“Would you like me to stop here?”

-would be greatly appreciated more periodically. At one point I was worried how much was being removed, and when she announced more had to come off, I had to insert and ask to see how it was first and ask if she could leave it. Too much more off would have been an issue for me. She said one more time I could look and see that more had to come off- but I asked again if she could leave it, to which she did, but I sensed some light deprecation of my decision.

Overall it was quickly done, had several personal requirements met. She gave good recommendations for products- some more fluid communication and letting me see what’s happening from the back would be appreciated.
I’d say to anyone looking to have a cut with Nicole, you can generally trust her skill with curls, but don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself if you have special needs or preference and check her work periodically throughout. <3
