About Cochrane & Area Humane Society
Cochrane & Area Humane Society is a place that cares for furry friends. The staff is helpful and provides lots of information about the animals. People can interact with puppies and cats at the shelter. The adoption process is thorough but quick, making it easy for families to find their new companions. Many who have adopted pets from the shelter express happiness with their experience and gratitude for the work the humane society does. The shelter has a dedicated team, including staff members who are noted for their exceptional service, even on busy days. They ensure that potential adopters understand the history and care of the animals. Many dogs are in foster care, so coordination is needed for meetings, but the staff helps make sure that families find the right fit. The care shown to the animals, including basic obedience training, is recognized as top tier. Adopters often share their joy in bringing home pets, like Zia and Jake (Chase), who have become wonderful additions to their families.
We walked in to adopt a cat back in September and the whole experience was amazing. We were shown a bunch of really wonderful cats and were given lots of time to think about which one we wanted to adopt.
We adopted a cat named Coleslaw (renamed him Chooch) and he is the best cat ever.
He is so sweet and cuddly. The adoption specialist also warned us that he loves cheese and she wasn’t wrong. He will find any cheese (or dairy) in the house and try to eat it all.
Thank you for the wonderful experience and for the amazing cat.
Well-run and extremely helpful, informed staff. We just adopted our second fur baby from here and couldn't be happier. The staff helped match us with the right dog for our family. Nellie is a perfect addition and the entire experience was top-notch!
We adopted a 5 month old female dog from Cochrane animal shelter.
The experience was very positive and they went to great lengths to ensure our dog was healthy and well cared for. The staff love what they do and it shows
