When my dad passed the only thing I really wanted was his old stereo and a few of his favourite albums. It was a huge part of my childhood in so many ways. It wasn’t in great condition when it was handed down to me 18 months ago, but sometime between then and arriving 3000 km away in Calgary, it became unusable. After a few weeks of waiting, I had given up hope that it could be repaired. When I got the call and quote, I was excited, but thought it was a lot of money for a beat up old 1972 Philco Ford employee purchase all in one stereo. You couldn’t wipe the grin off of my face picking it up tonight and I will tell you 3 hours later after playing a few of the old man’s classics…I’d have probably paid way more had I realized what this piece of history actually meant to me. As I sit here with a little tear in my eye (playing the song I listened to while spreading his ashes on the Icefield Parkway), I don’t think I could possibly be more pleased with the work these folks have done. A VERY heartfelt thank you!

Just sold my stereo equipment , quick, efficient, knowledgeable and I believe they gave me a fair price. I dealt with 3 different people at the store as I didn’t bring the equipment the first 2 times as I had trouble getting it there each time was a good experience. Finally after 1 1/2 years I made it and Catherine was great . I would recommend this store .

This review is regarding the repair shop in the NE. FANTASTIC!!!! I recently acquired a 1970s Thorens TD 160 from my in laws that was given to them from a friend before he passed and they never used. It had never been serviced to the best of my knowledge and I wasn't about to try and do anything with oit myself. To nice of a unit for these amateur hands. I brought it in the this shop and they knew the unit and knew what needed to be done. They were friendly and polite and even took the time to joke around with my daughters. They had the unit tuned up with in a week they even cleaned the lid and made it look slick. I picked it up and brought it home and I noticed one of the cables they replaced wasn't working properly. I contacted them and with no hesitation they advised me to bring it back and they would take a look. Sure enough it was a loose connection at the male end of the wire where it plugs into my Pre Amp and they replaced both wires no charge and even better had it done with in the hour. I explained I had been bragging about my new Record players to some family whom were coming to visit on the weekend and they worked fast to get me the player back so that I would not disappoint. They are a bit more expensive than other places but for something like this you get what you pay for. The player sounds and looks great. I would not hesitate to return and will DEFFINITLY recommend this shop to anyone I know looking for vintage retro audiophile equipment and or repairs. THANKS RETRO STORE!!
