My son attended the Reading Center for 2 years and completed the Wilson Program. He has dyslexia and without the Reading Center he would not be a successful independent high school student. He is much more confident and independent doing homework. They understood dyslexia and taught him to learn in a new way! I would highly recommend this for student who may have dyslexia. Get tested, get going and stick to it with your kids.!
My daughter Anna attended at the ARC for several years beginning in late elementary school. It was a long process at first because she progressed very slowly. But, she stuck with it and her progress rapidly increased as she got to the last 6 books. They helped her learn to read, but they also taught her ways to compensate for her difficulties in decoding words. Once she learned the compensation skills, she became a much more positive reader and started to better understand how to approach assignments. This led to her becoming a more independent learner and more on a level field with her same age peer group. I’m proud to say that she is finishing her sophomore year in college majoring in Elementary Education and loving school! I doubt she would’ve gone on to college without the instruction and support she received at the ARC.
