Very frustrating to reach them!! Today makes the 3rd time I’ve called during their business hours, but they were closed. I really don’t understand why? When I am able to reach the nurse’s voicemail no one returns my calls. I’ve had this issue when I had some important questions, needed prior authorization, and refills. So I just have to keep trying until someone wants to answer & help. Tommy Dooley is who I see & he’s great! He’s very personable & takes his time explaining everything. I would definitely be going somewhere else if it weren’t for him. It would be really helpful to just have an email to contact the nurse instead of wasting my time hoping I will get answers via phone.

Every single time I come here no matter time of day or day of the week… I am always waiting for our APPOINTMENT time for a minimum of one hour each time we’ve come here. One time it was over an hour and a half and we ended up leaving. Needs time management work.
Other than the time issues the staff is great.

I see Dr. Vaughan, Megan or Tommy twice a year for skin checks. All take time to listen & answer questions. The office is clean & patients immediately feel welcome by staff. My son has seen Dr. Shepherd for allergies/asthma. She is very thorough & patient with him. She is never in a rush & really takes time to review options & understand what patients are experiencing. Highly recommend everyone in this office.

Dermatology has been positive, but my experience with Allergy has been extremely disappointing. I’ve had an 8am appointment canceled 15 minutes before arrival, and most recently waited over 90 minutes past my scheduled time with no updates from staff while actively symptomatic. I was ultimately rescheduled another month out. For patients managing chronic conditions, this level of scheduling inconsistency and lack of communication is incredibly difficult. I hope this feedback leads to improvements in patient care and time management.

Fantastic care, I had a place on my arm and leg and a Huntington VA Dermatologist did nothing for over two years. Megan took care of them in under 10 minutes, gone. So be it Megan or the PA Tommy both are super great. Nurses are nice and caring, as well as the administrative staff up front. Don’t think twice to go there, just go.

I was referred to this practice a couple years ago and I’ve recently changed providers. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Amy in person. Each time I’m there they forget why I’m there. The last three appointments I had, I had to remind them about why I was there and then I was told it would be addressed at my next visit, but it never has been. I guess that’s a good method to continue to get co-pays out of everybody. I got tired and gave up fighting for the care that I was trying to receive on my last visit there. The provider that sees me is in an out so fast I never have a chance to ask questions. I get looked over for maybe 10 seconds max before she’s out the door. My last visit there she was in an out and I never got to ask any questions. The assistant that was in there went to go ask questions for me and came back with a Post-it note and a flyer and told me just to read that. I asked about a follow up appointment and they said one was not needed. The people working at the front desk are extremely nice and professional but everybody else not so much. I’ve been trying to pay my current bill and have left numerous voicemails with no response. Their voicemail says to leave credit card information as it is a secure line, but I do not trust leaving my financial information on a random voicemail. It seems like they care more about the offsite Retreat facility than they do patients at this location.

If you want to get an appointment here you will have to wait 3 months to get in. Today I found out after waiting on a November appointment since August that they have to reschedule me to sometime after the first of the year because Dr Tooley “Wasn’t going to be in the office at this time.” I bet most patients have a hard time being seen/heard from doctors here. Just go to Mountain State Medical Specialties in Hurricane instead. My appointment was scheduled there within a week rather than 6 months and their reviews are significantly better anyways.

Few years ago I had sores come out on my legs, and I have to say if it hadn't been for God, Dr Amy Vaughan and Staff I would have probably lost my leg. Due turn her diagnose my legs are healed for 4yrs now. Thanks to GOD FIRST DR AMY VAUGHAN DERMATOLOGY AND STAFF.
