Thal Acres is a public golf course established in 1963, located in the scenic Central Wisconsin countryside. It features 18 holes, divided into two nines with varying levels of difficulty. The front nine offers gentle, forgiving terrain, while the back nine presents woods and water that add challenge. The course has received praise for its well-maintained grounds and friendly staff. Many players enjoy the challenging course throughout the summer. Thal Acres also offers 8 lanes of bowling, a bar, a grill, and slots inside the clubhouse, making it a versatile spot for family gatherings or social outings with friends. The facility has a nice bowling alley, homemade pizzas, and outdoor seating under a pavilion. It is known for its wonderful staff and fun party packages, perfect for hosting events or celebrations. The relaxed neighborhood atmosphere and long-standing reputation make Thal Acres an ideal place to enjoy a round of golf, a meal, or a fun time with family and friends.
The course is pretty, especially on the back nine. There were a couple of greens getting repaired as well as a couple of holes on the back 9 in need of a sprinkler system. The bowling alley is an added bonus and reasonably priced.
Great staff. The course is challenging, average in aesthetics, and a frickin blast to play. Each hole is very different and when you get done, go to the 19th hole, have a drink and bowl a couple games in their 8 lanes of excellence. My cousin Johnny is one of the several who has had a higher score in golf then he did bowling.
The lanes are cool and the ceilings are high. Which means you don't feel like your bowling in someone's basement like most places in Wisconsin. Good food and friendly employees, good vibes.
