Just finished my first class of Muay Thai at Affinity Martial Arts in Wausau, and I can’t believe how much I love it. I'm a middle-aged guy, totally out of shape but the instructors, especially Jamie, made me feel right at home.
Jamie has this way of teaching that makes you feel both challenged and supported. He’s not just knowledgeable—he’s patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your growth.
The Muay Thai class kicked my butt, but in a good way. If you’ve been thinking about trying something new—do it. You don’t have to be a fighter to train like one.

As a middle-aged guy who's been out of shape for years, I was honestly nervous walking into Affinity Martial Arts. I expected to feel out of place or overwhelmed. But what I found instead was a welcoming, encouraging environment.
Last night I tried my first Muay Thai class. It’s a challenging class but in the best way. It pushed me physically and mentally, but never beyond what I could handle. If you are looking for a family oriented martial arts facility, you've found the perfect one! Affinity Martial Arts isn't just a very skilled martial arts program but it's an additional family that welcomes you with open arms regardless of your skill level and abilities. My son came to Si-fu Jamie and has enjoyed every class since we've started in September; school has been hard but this class has given him a light and a confidence that he carries home with him each night.
