I cannot say enough good things about this school, Sifu Jamie and the Affinity family. We were welcomed with open hearts and arms and my son has now been in the Little Dragons class for just shy of a year. This phenomenal group has helped my son to find his voice, accept challenges and change with grace and humility, and learn to fail forward with confidence. I openly and loudly recommend Affinity Martial Arts whenever I get the chance to do so!
I would highly recommend Affinity Martial Arts to anyone who has a desire to train with the best. Guro Jamie's knowledge is extensive in the art of Kali, Silat and Jeet Kune Do as well as many other disciplines in his tool box. If you come to watch one of his classes you will see the utter determination in his students to aquire skills and awareness and have fun doing it. The art of Kali is way different from anything I have experienced along the way. Kali is fluid, it teaches you to move in a way that works for you. I was fortunate enough to attend a seminar with Guro Dan Inosanto last weekend along with Guro Jamie and a few other students. It was an experience of a lifetime. To watch a Master work his craft and be a part of it is truly humbling. Anyone can teach you skills but it takes a special person to teach in such a way that makes sense and Guro Jamie does just that. No matter what level you are at you will know you are in the right place. The knowledge you learn will carry over into every facet of your life. I am at a point in my life that I don't want to stop, I want to learn, I want to grow and I am so happy to be a part of the Affinity family. -Julie Antonello
A few days ago while getting ready for work I began thinking about my journey so far at Affinity Martial Arts. I thought about all the people I have met so far, all the things I have learned from Guru Sparling, of all the wonderful mistakes I have made that will lead to improvement. I thought about the boy with the yellow belt (i think he's about 7 years old and I have made it to 61) I practiced with who graciously reset himself every time I lost my way. After maybe my 7th lesson, I accidentally learned about a seminar featuring Guru Dan Inosanto and, in turn, ended up spending an incredible weekend with 2 fellow students and my teacher, Jamie Sparling. Amazing. So there I stood in all of that goodness with leaking eyes. This morning's practice sealed the deal. Today marks my 12th lesson. I am here and I am staying. With my whole heart and soul, I feel at home in a safe, non-judgemental place. What a great place to start and continue the practice of self-defense, discipline, health and wellness. Would I recommend Affinity Martial Arts? Unquestionably.
