Twin Ports VA Clinic is a smaller facility that exceeds expectations in caring for veterans. The staff, including Dr. Schoenecker, are friendly and show they truly care. Optometry, labs, and mental health services are all well-staffed with compassionate professionals. The clinic is well-organized, with fast messaging, prescriptions, and appointments available through MyHealthVet. The staff are happy to share direct numbers for easy communication. Overall, the Twin Ports VA Clinic is a standout among VA facilities, providing exceptional service to its patients.
The Twin Ports VA went above and beyond in treating my dad. He received the absolute best care from the doctors and staff here. They were easy to work with, returned phone calls promptly, and provided my dad with all of his medical needs. Their care was the reason my dad was able to live in his own home up until the very end.
VA facilities can be really hit or miss. Tend to be much worse the more loaded they are with vets. Denver being the worse that I’ve experienced. Twin ports being a smaller clinic I feel exceeds expectations when it comes to helping and caring for vets. If you are looking for a doctor, Dr. Schoenecker is an absolute rockstar. Everyone that I have interacted with in optometry, labs and mental health has been friendly and really do show that they care. Also, if you like gunsmoke or similar black and white westerns, you are in luck because that’s all that they ever play in the waiting room.
If you want to experience true degradation - go to a VA clinic in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas. This VA is "Club Med" compared to many. If you don't like being connected to the Mpls VA just to speak to the TPC, then ask the receptionist or one of the appointment specialists for their direct number and they will happily share. 8)
