“It was the night before family pictures and all through the house, a woman was pacing, trying to find a last minute availability with any salon that could squeeze in a cut and balayage coloring before the end of the day. I truly wanted to get my hair done but hadn’t jumped on scheduling anything in advance before it seemed too late. Everyone in Hastings was busy; it seemed to be a hopeless endeavor. But Lori of 5th Avenue Color offered to stay late to do my hair.

My hair is past my waist and is almost certainly a project, but Lori tackled it readily and she did the best job that I have ever experienced in getting balayage done. The colors shift between a soft, golden blond to a caramel throughout my hair, done with a combination of foils and attentive hand painting. By the time that Lori finished, I was completely stunned by her work and felt that she had really taken my head of hair, which had become boring and the color very flat, to something that immediately boosted my confidence and had me ready for our family photos. I’ve included before and after photos below, but they truly don’t do the colors justice. Lori went above and beyond to accommodate and address my style goals. I don’t think I’ll ever go to another salon again.
