To all who are reading this, please take a moment to read my experience before choosing your pets care here. I was referred to Blue Pearl to meet with Dr. Byl (Internal Medicine) about my dog's symptoms (stomach filling with fluid). After his initial examination, he provided his recommendations with pricing and asked how I wanted to proceed. I elected to move forward with all the tests in hopes to find a diagnosis. A few hours later he came back in the room to tell me his findings in what he saw in the ultrasound. He believed she had a potential spleen tear that supported her symptoms. I asked what next steps are and was specifically told to wait until we received all the tests back which would be 7 days. I was baffled as this did not feel right with as severe as her symptoms were. (Hint the reason for the referral) Dr. Byl said to wait for the tests to come back and schedule an exploratory surgery for the following week. He said worse case is we open her up and it's not what I thought. He did not recommend a CT scan or to remove any more fluid from her stomach at this time. I paid my bill ($2500) and left feeling more hopeless then when I had arrived. I received a phone call from my primary vet that night highly recommending to move forward with a CT scan. They expressed that a potential tear was quite serious and my dog did not have 7 days to wait for results. The next day I took my dog to WVRC Waukesha where she was admitted and the emergency vet recommended to move forward with the CT scan. We received the results a few hours later that my dog had a deep vein thrombosis in her liver. The vet had also drained another 3 liters of fluid from her stomach to make her more comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no cure or fix for this diagnosis. About 30 mins after receiving this news, Dr. Byl called me with one test result that had came back. I informed him that we just received the heartbreaking news of her diagnosis and his only question was if they found anything wrong with her spleen. After replying they did not, he said I will call you back when we get the rest of the test results back. He did not offer any words of empathy or comfort. He did not take a moment to offer compassion after I just informed him that I learned my dog is dying. He was more concerned about being right. Which he was not right. Everything he recommended to do and not do was not right. Two other vets disagreed with his findings and recommendations for care. I am so glad that I moved forward with the CT scan and putting my dog's care in another vet's hands. Even though her final diagnosis was not what we wanted to hear, we at least finally had an answer.
I do not recommend Dr. Byl or this vet practice. Please consider WVRC locations for your emergency vet needs.

I had to bring my Chihuahua in unexpectedly and when I walked in was immediately greeted by Jessica, she was so welcoming and sweet. When my pup was getting discharged she was very friendly and had a nice conversation about how everything was going… It’s hard to find friendly people these days especially when it was 11:30 PM and they were closing at midnight… Most people just want you to shut up and get out because they wanna go home. Jessica was absolutely nothing like that even though I was the last one there she still made me feel like I mattered and wasn’t bothering her me still being there… Hands down to Jessica and all the staff at BluePearl Pet Hospital, you guys are amazing people!! Keep up the amazing work! 🐶🐾🦴

Our dogs got in a fight with each other on a Sunday evening. When we showed up Susan the receptionist was so helpful and nice. We were triaged immediately and put in a room. They were very upfront about the prices of everything. Of course this is an emergency clinic so we expected to pay a higher amount so we were surprised with the estimate being a reasonable amount. The vet was very nice and informative as well as the tech who helped us out. If we ever had another emergency we would come back.

This establishment is wonderful. The staff is so kind and willing to help. I found BluePearl pet hospital because my primary pet care was closed and my attempts to contact other locations for help were less than ideal to put politely. In other locations I was told my situation wasn’t an Emergency and to try Chicago which is hours away. Blue pearl on the other hand got me in right away and did everything they could to fix my situation. They did it with compassion and understanding. Despite being told by other clinics that this wasn’t an emergency blue pearl treated it as such and I truly believe they saved my cats life. I walked into their doors with tears in my eyes, heavy from stress and I left with relief, laughter, a smile on my face, and most importantly my baby safe and in much better condition than when we came in. You can trust the kind veterinarians at blue pearl to treat you and your pet as if you were family.

Brought my 14 y/o cat in and received the best care I could’ve imagined. The front desk person, Susan, was so incredibly compassionate and supportive and led me to a private room so I could lose my mind in peace. The veterinarian I had took a very close look at my kitty and quickly found what was causing her pupils to be different sizes. They found what my primary vet missed in previous exams. Now my sweet girl just needs surgery to remove the polyp in her ear. I am so incredibly grateful for the support and relief they have provided. I really felt like they cared and understood what I was going through. I hope everyone in the world has someone like Susan. Susan for president!!!

I’ve never had to take an animal to an emergency vet before and I was so worried about my kitty. I called ahead before hitting the road and the staff was very quick to help me identify if my cat needed emergency assistance. Upon arriving, they immediately took my cat into care as they gathered more information from me at the desk. They provided me a private room to wait in while my cat was being examined. Coffee, water, and a restroom was also pointed out to me immediately. While I was in my personal waiting room, vets would come in and notify me of every step that was about to be taken with my cat. The staff at Blue Pearl were amazing!

Staff was friendly, especially Brenda. Other than that, my dog and I had a very unpleasant experience at BluePearl with Dr. Byle, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. We were charged $800 for an ultrasound that revealed essentially nothing. We were then given a medication that made our dog extremely sick almost immediately. We truly thought our dog was going to die because of the medication they prescribed.
We have frantically contacted BluePearl twice in the past 24 hours and received no help from Dr. Byle. They offered no alternatives for different medications and told us they couldn’t prescribe anything else because Dr. Byle went on vacation.
I see that there are other stories like ours in these reviews, save yourself the headache. Never come here.

I cannot recommend the specialty services here enough. Dr. Byl and his team (Brenda and Rachel) were so kind and helpful when my cat tried to die on us. He's back to causing chaos like nothing happened!

Everyone from the top down were amazing! Special shout out to Brenda... we had some phone conversations a few different times, even past the time she was supposed to leave for the day. Their dedication of care was truly great!
