About The Centre
The Centre is a non-profit organization serving the St. Croix Valley. It opened in 2009 and now has over 2,500 members. The Centre offers lap swimming, group classes, weight rooms, and strength training facilities. Members appreciate the friendly staff and clean facilities. Bodypump is a popular class with Laura being a highly praised instructor. There is a desire for the return of spin and bodystep classes. Some members have concerns about the behavior of unsupervised middle and high school students in the waiting areas and training rooms. They report issues with food and objects being thrown, inappropriate comments, and students occupying equipment without using it. Members suggest stricter rules and guidelines for these areas to improve the workout experience.
I love this gym. The employees are great, the amenities are solid, and the restrooms are always clean. My only suggestion is around closing times. If the gym closes at 8 PM on weekdays, members should be allowed to work out until 8. On weekends, the posted closing time is 6 PM, but members are sometimes asked to stop at 5:45. Occasionally staff will let you go until 5:50 or 5:55, but it varies by employee, which feels inconsistent and unprofessional. If the closing time says 6, members should be able to work out until 6. This is something that genuinely needs to be addressed. A great step forward would be extending weekend hours to 9 PM, the way the gym already does it...read full review
So far, I love all the classes, bit the weight room and elliptical are my favorite. The pool is great for the kids and the hot tub is nice after a long day. Amenities offered are overall really great.
I recently joined this gym. The pros are that it has pretty much everything you could need as far as equipment. The price is reasonable. The cons are that it is an old gym. The layout is veryyy poor with equipment spread out between multiple rooms. The locker rooms are on the opposite side of the building from all the equipment. Also, their closing time on the weekends says 6:00pm but they kick you out at 5:45pm. Ok, so how about they just say they close at 5:45 so people can plan their workout accordingly!
