A great place. Staff is wonderful. Friendly atmosphere. Pool is great and offers many classes.

Had the free 3 day trial membership. It is a simple layout, easy to navigate fitness club. not snooty type either. it is quite simply worth it if you are interested in classes, training workouts, lap-lane swim or just hot tub use.

This has become my home away from home. I've been a member of several gyms over the years and joined LPF a little over a year ago. This place makes you feel like you truly belong. The staff and members are all very encouraging of one another and I really feel good when I come in to work out and after I leave. I'm taking a few classes and working with Karen as a personal trainer. My goal when I joined was to become stronger, more knowledgeable about how to work out effectively, and to make this a new healthy lifestyle change. LPF and Karen have exceeded my expectations. I'm so grateful for this.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at Lake Park Fitness. I’ve been a member for over a year, and while I originally enjoyed the convenience, I’ve found that the communication and professionalism simply don’t match the price you pay.
When I first signed up, I completed a 12-month contract. Before the term ended, I called to confirm whether the membership would auto-renew and whether any action was needed on my part. I was told it would renew month-to-month, which was fine with me since I only needed it for a few more months while we finished our home gym. No one mentioned any type of cancellation notice, or a $20 increase in price.
Fast forward to the next month, and this is where the frustration really began. I attempted to cancel my membership five times over the course of three weeks—both by calling and stopping in. Each time, I was told that “no one is available to cancel your membership” and that a manager would call me to schedule a time. Not once did I receive a callback.
A few impressions from that experience:
I’ve had several gym memberships in my life, and I’ve never encountered a place where only one or two specific people are trained to cancel a membership.
Despite calling multiple times, no one ever followed up with me.
When I did finally get ahold of someone, I was told a manager would be in around 2 pm and would call me back. The call never came. I even mentioned that I live out of town and was hoping to get this handled while I was nearby. Still nothing.
I stopped by one last time before leaving town—and suddenly, someone who could cancel my membership was available.
At that point, I was told I would still be charged for December because a 14-day cancellation notice is required. I had been trying for weeks to get in touch with someone, so being charged an extra $70 felt especially frustrating. In that moment, I chose to practice patience and to quietly and calmly leave the gym after signing my cancellation request. That being said, I want others to know my experience, and give the gym an opportunity to reflect on it's customer service and procedures set in place and give the opportunity for improvement.
In my opinion, the gym itself is outdated, often extremely warm, and frequently understaffed. After this experience, I honestly don’t feel that what you get is worth what you pay.
Please note that I rarely leave negative reviews—usually, for every one I write, there are ten positive ones. But I hope sharing this helps someone else make an informed decision.

Had major surgery. Wrote a written letter to cancel membership because couldn't use. They put on hold then just went and charged my credit without my permission . Went in to talk to them they wouldn't do a thing about it.

The staff is always cheery, friendly and very helpful. The locker room is always clean. The showers are clean and there is always plenty of hot water. The equipment is also well taken care of. The pool is awesome! The fitness staff are experienced and very good natured. Because of the above it can be a little crowded but not over packed.

I like the variety of classes, the equipment selections, the pool, and the age of the clientele. The pool can be a challenge to reserve a lane (but at least you can as opposed to having to hope for a lane) and I wish they offered classes a little later or a little earlier for those of us who work 12 hour shifts.

Great people and great facilities. Sometimes problems make great opportunities to set yourself apart. That happened to me. There was an issue where I was 75% at fault and they made it 100% good. Thank you Jane & Mya. See you again in 2024!
