About GHC-SCW Capitol Clinic
GHC-SCW Capitol Clinic is a healthcare facility that has been serving patients, including families with multiple members, for over seven years. The clinic has many providers and staff members who are generally described as wonderful and caring. However, there are some areas that could be improved. The wait time for appointments, particularly in primary care and other specialties, can be very long. It can take several months to secure an appointment, and there may be delays and rescheduling even after an appointment has been made. The clinic's policy of giving prior approval for some outside care can also be problematic. Patients have reported issues with bills being denied or paid slowly, resulting in constant badgering from outside institutions and the need for frequent follow-up calls to rectify the situation. The clinic's medical device and wear options are also limited, and coverage for medical equipment may be useless in many cases. On the positive side, the care received during appointments is generally described as decent. The information desk staff can occasionally be cranky, but they are usually kind and patient. The clinic has been praised for its overall care and interactions, but the long wait times and issues with outside care and medical equipment are significant drawbacks. Some patients may even consider changing their health insurance as a result.
I've been a WELL-CARED for member with GHC since 2019. When I first moved to Madison in 2018, I had a different service provider that was... questionable. As soon as open enrollment for insurance was available, I made the move as fast as I could. I have never had a bad visit here. I've ALWAYS received the best care possible. As someone who is a zebra when they typically treat cows (referencing my very complex medical history) they've handled it with superior care, concern and streamlined servicing. I've had everything done from physicals, lab work, physical/cognitive therapy, specialized treatment plans and about anything else you can imagine-- including surgeries contracted through UW Health Systems. Yes, there are preapprovals required for certain types of concerns, but I've never had an issue with paperwork going and has been done with little to no effort on my part. My doctor is Kyoko Felland and I ABSOLUTELY love her attention to detail and focus on my overall health. She always knows me and my concerns without having to look up my chart. I enjoy seeing her so much, I'd consider her a friend if it wasn't awkward. :) My husband had another PCP but after my stellar experience with her, decided to make the witch to GHC as well. She spends a good amount of time with us each visit and even catches up with our personal life mentions from previous visits. My children all see
I had been a patient with GHC since I was born, and last year’s experience made me switch to a new provider.
First, I want to say I really liked my primary Sarah S. She was great and the only reason I’m giving 2 stars.
If you see anyone other than your primary, even if they are on the same team, expect them to dismiss concerning symptoms and make you wait until you can see your primary (who is most likely booked for months).
Because of an oversight with another doctor in my physical, and then their refusal to see me for a follow up while my primary was on vacation, my treatment for an autoimmune disease was delayed by months.
I have always received great care. Have been a member since its inception. My primary is wonderful. I have seen derm, PT, radiology, psychiatry and others, all are very professional and CARING. No problems with getting referrals or admin. questions. I see other reviews are negative but I haved been very satisfied. Thanks!
