As an out of town visitor, I just walked in this morning expecting to have to make an appointment for later in the day. Owner asked me what I needed, which was just a quick clean up of my neck and around my ears. He said, oh that will take just a minute hop in the chair! He had me done in no time and was very pleasant. Tried to send me on my way with no charge, but I insisted! Charge was minimal, and the next time I’m back , I will definitely pay a visit!

Matthew is, hands down, the best barber that I’ve had in Madison. He is extremely skilled and efficient (not to be interpreted as him rushing you out the door — he’s just great at cutting/styling hair and doesn’t waste your time). On top of that, he’s friendly and an entertaining storyteller. He has also given me a few suggestions for cutting my hair (eg, he said that my requested haircut was too short at the top). I’ve deferred to his expertise and have always been satisfied. Many other barbers would just give you what you requested regardless if it was not the right choice. In contrast, Matthew clearly cares about the client.

I've never met a barber that does nearly as good of a job as Matthew does. I haven't ever had a better haircut. He is fun to talk to, and he is also honest and straightforward when communicating with you about the haircut, which is refreshing since that is so hard to find from anyone anywhere else.
