We wandered all around this lovely little town and poked our heads into many galleries. But, this one was the keeper! The owner was marvelous. They had so many really special items in every price range. I am told, that her specialty, is the rugs. All hand made. Since I would have trouble getting one on a plane back home, I had to skip that. But, they are lovely. Brought some very cool keepsakes at a fair and affordable price. Could not be happier!

I had my first ever visit to Madeline Island and the Woods Hall Gallery this week. We were on a bus tour from MN. I fell in love with just about every piece of artwork there!!! It was amazing! Brought two treasures back home to Winona. One is a green woven & knit perhaps small doily made by Marge McFarlane. The other is a quail made from a gourd by artist, Virginia Russell. She is such a sweet little bird and I named her Madeline and will give her a good home. Hope some day to return to the island again for a visit.

Amazing shop with ALL LOCAL ARTISTS! Some live here only part time but every single one has a connection to Madeline Island. Arrived just at closing time but a wonderful artist let me look around and even took the time to show me the weaver studio, the ceramics studio, and to talk to me about the various talent on display. Absolutely recommend this as a MUST SEE if you're on the island.
