Our experience with Soggy Acres was nothing short of exceptional. Jeff kept us informed and updated throughout the process and gave us great insight into hunting retrievers. We are so happy with our pup and the service we received. I highly recommend Soggy Acres to anyone looking for a companion or hunting Labrador Retriever!

Words cannot describe how grateful I am to Jeff for getting me connected to my forever/soul dog. I got Jersey on July 1st 2010. Sadly we put her down two years ago. She was the absolute BEST dog I have ever had. Jeff not only provided me with an amazing dog but a best friend. I would recommend Soggy Acres Retrievers to anyone looking for a new Labrador family member. Thank you! 🙏

We got a male puppy from Ace and Bridie Belle in June 2024. He’s been a great dog. Very smart and easy to train. He’s everything we expected and then some.

Got our fox red during 2020… we love her and she has a sweet temperament and is a great family dog. However, she has severe allergies and the dog dermatologist stated this was genetic and passed on and will continue to be passed on. It has been very costly. Whether it was intentionally withheld from us or unknown, it is the reason we do not recommend buying from here.

After doing research and reviewing many different lab breeders throughout WI, my husband and I decided to put a down payment for a chocolate lab through Soggy Acres Retrievers. Soon after, we reached out to Jeff and asked if we could meet with him at his kennel in Janesville to check out their space. When we arrived and met with Jeff, we were impressed by how clean the kennel was and the knowledge Jeff had about breeding etc. They were more expensive than some of the other dog breeders I looked into, but I read nothing but great reviews and honestly some of the other breeders websites were sketchy looking. After we sent in our deposit and met with Jeff, he informed us that he had a female chocolate lab for us and she would be available to pick up on September 17th, 2023. There were also 4-5 other families picking up their pups that day and we were to get the last pup available. That didn’t bother us, we were happy to have the last pick if that meant we got a pup.The day we picked up our girl (which was a Sunday), Jeff seemed almost irritated with us. Turns out we were interrupting the Packer game for him (keep in mind, we didn’t choose Sunday as the day for pickup - he did). His wife Kayte was very sweet, talked with us, and went through all of the paperwork with us as Jeff sat next to her seemingly grumpy that we were interrupting his football game. While we were there, I told him that my mom got puppies from a breeder and they actually ended up having Giardia and so she was not going to allow us to bring our dog over to her house until she got a negative fecal test result. Jeff assured us that their “parasite protocol” for their pups is better than anyone else’s and they make sure to treat for everything right away so we should not have to worry. We were not able to get her actually into the vet for a full health exam until the following Saturday, but we were interested in having her start doggy daycare - and every doggy daycare requires a negative fecal test result. So, we got a sample and took it in on September 21st (4 days after we got her). It takes 24 hrs for results, and we heard back on September 22nd that her fecal sample was positive for Giardia. I immediately emailed Jeff and simply let him know the results in case one of the other families reached out to him as well. His response was and I quote “loose stool or any symptoms?  0 calls from other families from either of the 2 litters that went home.” I responded with “No loose stool or symptoms. Only found out because I was going to have to start having her go half days to doggy daycare and they require a negative fecal sample result on file.” His response was “it can show if they had it and have been treated.   Or could have eaten something or drank something.  my apologies either way.” My response was “I don’t understand what you mean by “it can show if they had it and have been treated.”  If she had it and was treated for it, then why would it show up in her stool?  And why would they need to treat for it again? I’m actually really upset about this.  We were not expecting issues with parasites because of how much you talked about making sure to have the pups treated before going home.  We essentially got a sick puppy. I am not upset about having to take her in for a general checkup shots etc because that is my responsibility as her owner, however, I am upset because I am going to have to pay for treatment for something you swore up and down even on the day of pickup that it would be weird for something like this to come up because of how much you have treated for it.  Not only do we have the cost of treatment now, but I am now having to miss out on work because she can’t go to daycare and I don’t have anyone else that can come and let her out during the day, and my family members who would have been able to watch her now don’t want to due to the risk of their dogs getting it.  And not only that, our vet is concerned for my older dog Zoey contracting it as they have to use the same yard to go potty.Review continued by husband Aaron R.

Our sweet Sam has been the best addition to our family! At just over two years old, his personality is the perfect balance of sweet and playful. He goes from cuddling on the couch to hunting for birds with ease. He loves the water and being outdoors. He was easy going and easy to train from day one, the easiest puppy we have ever had! He’s a handsome boy and we get so many compliments on his overall look! We can’t wait to add another Soggy Acres dog to our family!

They were super nice and helpful. I have a female black Lab produced from Gia and Ace, she has an amazing structure and is definitely one of the prettiest labs i’ve seen. She has an amazing drive and great potential. I definitely recommend them if you want an active dog.
