A couple years ago I had an absessed tooth that needed extracted. I took the antibiotics beforehand. At the appointment for the tooth to be pulled I let them know I am hard to numb and they had already been told about my dental anxiety. Now I still can hardly even believe this but no joke, halfway through the extraction, the part where you can hear the tooth being shattered by the pliers like fireworks in your skull, they stop what they are doing and tell me I need to be seen by an oral surgeon. They said that they had given me all of the numbing shots that they are legally allowed to give me and maybe I hadn't taken the antibiotics correctly. I was floored! Like is that even legal?! The cherry on top? When they actually expected me to pay out of my pocket for the appointment. Yeah I dont think so. I got the tooth pulled just down the road 3 days later with no problem at from a better dental office.

I was completely unimpressed with the Olympia Location, however the Yelm Office of SeaMar seems to have good front office staff and my Doctor seems knowledgeable, understanding and she seems to care.

SeaMar in Yelm provides dental services for my wife and I and it is truly a privilege. From the front desk reception, scheduling, and care it is all a positive experience. Recently I had my routine periodontal maintenance completed. The provider Dr. Lief Gerritzen did a fantastic cleaning. Any discomfort was quickly mitigated and you could tell he is dedicated to his craft. The dental assistant was equally as pleasant and professional. From seating, discussing and small talk she made the environment welcoming and comfortable. SeaMar makes it easy to stay on top of our family's dental schedule and to work within our insurance benefits. Highly Recommend

It’s worth driving from Olympia to go to this dental clinic. Everyone has always been good to me.
I am most grateful for Judith who does dental cleanings. She is thorough, organized, and advocates for you. She spends a good amount of time reviewing chart notes and diagnoses from other providers. I don’t think any of my medical providers have ever done that with me in the room. She alerted me awhile back that I was eligible for extra cleanings because of a new diagnosis. I don’t enjoy going to the dentist but having extra cleanings to get on top of my oral and overall health is pretty nice.
The only things I dislike are having to sit with the medical patients. Then they have a weird thing about confirming within 48 hours or the appt will get cancelled. They’ve got multiple automated calls that I receive, automated calls that have me press a number to confirm, I have to call in, and someone calls me. It a little bit confusing because I never know if my confirmation has been received and I’d hate to drive 30 minutes and find out the appt was cancelled. I also do the e-checkin on MyChart. So I would prefer one method of confirming and feel confident that my appointment has been confirmed.

The people at SeaMar Dental Clinic REALLY CARE about Public Health! They're kind, courteous and professional. The Dentist and Hygienists are highly skilled, gentle and thorough. They provide a greatly needed service to the community. They could make a lot more money in private practice, so they deserve our appreciation! Yes, there can be a long wait to get an appt, but that's because they serve a wide area with a large population. Where else can you get sliding scale Dentistry around here? If you see a 1-star review, it's usually because someone arrived very LATE and expected to be able to bump everyone else's appt, then got mad that they had to reschedule! The other common reason for 1-star reviews is that a drug-seeker didn't get sent home with the drugs they were after. Those people are notorious for leaving angry 1-star reviews for doctors, dentists, clinics and hospitals. Rest assured you'll get whatever pain medicine is genuinely warranted for your dental procedure to be painless.

I have gone to the dentist at many other dental offices and by far sea Mar has been amazing. My dentist was a wonderful woman with very gentle hands. I did not even feel the needle when being numbed. I highly recommend her and her amazing assistants. She did a great job and it was pain free. Keep up the hard work. And thank you for fixing my tooth!

Worst place to go. Drove an hr just told be told I couldn't be seen because I have my kids with me. Yet again wasn't told before hand. Just to have a check up and cleaning. Don't recommend this place at all. Staff is rude as well.
