Apparently, these folks bought LJH Landscape, who overcharged me for a minor sprinkler repair many years ago. I had paid the amount that I was billed by the technician, but later, an extra half hour was added to the bill.

I disputed the extra charge and wrote a carefully worded letter about the experience, but they kept $60 on their books for over a decade with no response and no collection activity. I assumed then that they were fine with my letter and wrote it off.

Now they say they won't work for me, even though technically, they never did.

HONEST. I have used JP Stone in the past. They do great work. Last week I had John Stone come out to discuss some new water feature maintenance concerns. When I told him what I thought I needed, he made it super clear that I probably did NOT need this work, and if I hired him to do it, I might well be spending money I didn't need to spend. In the nicest possible way, he INSISTED that I understand this. It wasn't that he didn't want the work--he's busy because his work is so good, and because the customer service is so great, but did share with me that he would definitely like more jobs (he runs a business, after all).
