We recently had to put our first family dog down who we had since we were 19. We were really concerned with the process and wanted him to have the best, most comfortable care. We had seen other dogs put down at other facilities and were never really impressed with how it was handled. The dog would lay on a thin blanket in a normal vet room and that’s how they got put down. At Tumwater vet they had a whole separate room. It was filled with comfy seats and a comfy couch along with a padded blanket floor for the dog to lay on. The staff were friendly and helpful. The vet showed she really cared about our dog and gave us options on how we wanted to proceed. She gave us space to think and come to terms with the results of the examination. The euthanasia seemed a bit steep, hence the four stars. It made me wonder what would happen if we couldn't pay to put my suffering pup to sleep.
