If I could give Jessie T at Beauty Bar Salon & Lounge 10 stars, I absolutely would.
From the moment I walked in right when they opened, the experience was next-level. I was greeted by the sweetest shop dogs, Fran and Aka, which instantly set the tone—yes, they’re dog-friendly, and yes, it makes everything better. The entire space has this eclectic, laid-back, creative vibe that immediately makes you feel welcome instead of intimidated.
Jessie himself is incredible—so warm, personable, and clearly passionate about what he does. I came in for what I can only describe as an emergency hair situation after not having my hair professionally done in years (and attempting a self-cut… about a year ago… big mistake). Jessie completely rescued my hair. He brought my faded red back to life with a gorgeous tint that honestly took me right back to the color I had in my 20s. On top of that, the deep conditioning treatment left my hair feeling unbelievably soft and healthy.
And the experience doesn’t stop at the hair. I enjoyed a couple of peach mimosas while getting pampered, and the lounge side of the salon is such a fun bonus—arcade games, pool, darts, and just an overall chill hangout atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you could easily bring your partner or friends to relax while you’re getting services done. They also host fun events like karaoke nights, dance parties, and more, which makes it feel like a true community space, not just a salon.
They’re even in the middle of remodeling, and I can already tell it’s going to be even more amazing. I cannot wait to come back.
Jessie, thank you for literally saving my hair and making the whole experience so fun and welcoming. This place is not your typical salon—it’s an experience.

oh beauty bar, how i love you so! my best friend and i are regulars here, and every single time we’ve gotten quick service and delicious drinks. the staff is INCREDIBLE, quite literally some of the sweetest people you could meet, and the drinks are the perfect balance of strong, yet flavorful and not overly boozy (tasting). my lemon drops and sex on the beaches are always perfect, same with my friends’. we absolutely adore this place and every member of their team. the salon is fabulous too, my mother would get her hair cut and colored here and it was always GORGEOUS. thank you jessie for creating such an awesome space for lgbt and alternative folks to mingle. we are eternally grateful and love you and the team to pieces.❤️

Celebrated a birthday here friday and it was a wonderful atmosphere. I want to COMMEND our bar keep. Poor thing was running the whole show alone and did a find job of it. Be ware the tables are rickety and easy to knock! But other then that? Amazing place. Thank you for being a safe space in our community!

Karaoke was a blast, and was super surprised at how novel the place is! Don't know what some of these reviews are talking about, place was clean and service was timely! Gonna be back to hang at the bar and get my hair cut!

This was beyond humiliating — it was dehumanizing.
The moment we stepped into that bar, it was clear we were not welcome. Before we could even get settled, we were confronted and accused of coming through the “back door” — a door that was wide open, with no sign, no warning, nothing indicating it wasn’t an entrance. We didn’t sneak in. We didn’t break rules. We simply walked through an open door.
Then they shifted the accusation, claiming we had drinks outside. We had a single glass of water. That was it. But instead of handling anything calmly or professionally, the owner made it personal. We weren’t politely asked to leave. We weren’t given a fair explanation. We were told flat-out that we were not welcome — and that we were never allowed to return.
And then it escalated.
The owner grabbed my arm and physically forced me out. I was handled like I was disposable. Like I didn’t matter. Like I wasn’t a human being deserving of basic respect. Being pushed out of a public place in front of others was degrading and shocking.
No one has the right to put their hands on someone like that. No one deserves to be shoved out the door over an accusation about an open entrance and a glass of water. And no one deserves to be made to feel like they don’t belong.
What happened wasn’t just unprofessional. It wasn’t just rude. It was aggressive, humiliating, and completely unacceptable.
