So I've made a big decision. After 10 years of Botox injections in my left arm to gain function, I have decided its time to change and see what more can be improved on in my mobility and motor function. So, my journey with Michelle Proctor at Advanced Therapeutic Massage begins. I have gotten massages from Michelle before, and it honestly is a spiritual experience every time (as funny as that sounds). I have little sensation in my left arm. I can't open my hand fully or hold something without my wrist bent inwards at a 90 degree angle. This incredible woman has given me hope that I will regain full motor function in my arm and hand. 10 years of Botox, 14 years without said function, you'd think I would've given up on ever being "normal" again. She discounted her services so I could get the treatment I need from her. And let me tell you, it is TREATMENT. Yes it is technically a massage, but there is no luxury in the sessions (Okay, its actually a very luxurious and comfortable atmosphere :P ) but again, let me impress the importance of THERAPEUTIC. I have gotten massages for the sake of massages before. I have even been to massage therapists. NONE are on the level of Michelle. She is a Godly woman, a true gift to the world of therapeutic massage. She believes in SOLUTIONS not temporary FIXES. She uses a range of techniques and really listens to my body's needs. I have never been so aware of my left arm as when she has worked on getting oxygen and blood to an otherwise nearly dead, nerve damaged, and numb arm. There is a massive difference between a masseuse and a massage therapist, and if you go to see Michelle, you will discover exactly what the difference is. No more treating the symptoms. Time to solve the problem.
