I know enough to be dangerous, having been in tech for decades. Still, I know when things are beyond me. I have a new work laptop, still under warranty. However, both the company and Best Buy wanted to take it for at least a week without a loaner. I can't afford that computing loss. I ordered a fan directly, replaced it, but couldn't get the tiny plug to connect. I called a couple of companies close to me to find out if they could work right away. One said no, I could only drop off. Another gave me initial info, but then didn't respond when I had the fan. These folks are a bit more expensive but were always very responsive.
