About The Everett Clinic Optometry
The Everett Clinic Optometry receives mixed reviews regarding their wait times and customer service, but the providers consistently receive high praise. One patient had to visit twice due to overbooking, waiting a total of 3.5 hours while the receptionist refused to let them leave, even for a short errand. However, the providers are described as amazing, particularly an optician named Amy Grow at the Shoreline location who was praised for her patience, skill, and attentiveness. The clinic's staff can vary, with some receptionists being kind and helpful, while others are described as brusque and rude. Physical therapists also received mixed feedback, with some not providing sufficient guidance and others checking in on patients' progress. The medical providers, on the other hand, receive unanimous praise. Dr. Kiyonaga is highlighted for her exceptional care and trust-building with children and adults, while Dr. Aslam is commended for her quick action in addressing a patient's symptoms. The walk-in/urgent care doctors and nurse practitioners are also highly regarded. Dr. Bowers is mentioned for her life-saving assessment. In summary, The Everett Clinic Optometry has areas for improvement in wait times and customer service, but the providers consistently deliver high-quality care, making patients feel heard and valued.
I am a patient at the Everett Clinic in January 2024. The staff are friendly and the facilities are nice. The location is also convenient and there is parking! However, the Everett Clinic still has a mandatory mask policy in place. For a long time we were all convinced masks help! It was understandable to require masks, and many of us were on board to protect those around us, and ourselves. But many studies and publications have since helped evolve our thinking, and assist policymakers in avoiding this unnecessary measure. Mainstream publications like the New York times and the Atlantic have acknowledged our thinking has advanced, and masks don't actually assist in preventing the spread of respiratory illness. It is exceptionally rare to see anyone electively wearing a mask in January 2024. Even rarer for a business or group to maintain a mandatory masking policy. The types of masks required by the Everett Clinic do not prevent transmission of respiratory disease. This is a commonly known and generally acknowledged fact. The rank and file worker who I interacted with was confused and frustrated by the policy, and many individuals in the building were masks under their nose and a seeming defiance to the rule, or certainly lack of compliance. For so many reasons, the policy is unnecessary and at this stage, provokes a lack of confidence in the decision making ability of the leadership team. There are no doubt a few people in charge making this policy decision. My negative review is intended to provide feedback to the leadership team in a formal and public way. I hope they can evolve their thinking. Masks should absolutely be allowed for anyone who wants to optionally wear them, but should not be mandated.
I had to come back twice to be seen because they were too busy ( the second time I took a half day off from work and was there for over 3 hours). When I checked in the receptionist refused to let me run an errand while I waited (a 2.5 hour wait then another 30 minute for the provider), stating it was "just like the emergency room". She told me she wouldn't check me in if I left. When I got in the room I mentioned that I had other things I needed to do and had been waiting the provider then acted like I didn't want to be seen. I am really disappointed in the timeliness of this facility and their lack of care about the timely care issue. The providers I saw were amazing and I would highly recommend them. The wait times are the only reason they did not get a 5 star rating from me.
I never post reviews, but Amy Grow, Optician at Shoreline, was amazing. She worked me in, even though she was clearly busy. She saw something confusing on my account and took the time to look into it. I asked her to coordinate a benefits issue and she was happy to do so and did so skillfully. She was very calm and patient, and really listened. 10/10 would recommend.
