We adopted a senior kitty that ended up having severe hyperthyroidism. Our vet recommended i131 and we rushed our cat to FHTC. Dr. Vaughan and her staff were amazing, especially with such a severe case that required a high dose and 6 nights away from home. They updated us every day and were calm and patience during a stressful time. 11 months post treatment and our cat is now completely cured. If you have a cat that is a candidate for i131 and you are on the fence, do it and don't look back

UPDATE: A full two years post treatment, Muggs is still thriving. His thyroid levels are completely normal at every check up. He’s 15, and doing extremely well. We will forever be grateful for this amazing treatment. It was worth EVERY PENNY. UPDATE 4/5: at his 3 month check up, Muggs’ thyroid levels are completely in the normal range and he has gained a whole pound back! He is thriving and looks/feels/acts like the kitty we’ve always know again! We are SO grateful for this treatment! I truly believe he would’ve been gone soon without it and feel like he’s been given a new lease on life. I cannot express how thankful I am to have more time with my fur baby! THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart! ❤️ I'll make sure to update after we visit our regular vet and get a definite update on T levels and weight, but so far I am very happy with our decision to take our cat here for treatment. I realize not everyone can afford this treatment, but for us it made sense - our regular vet explained that medication even for just a few years would end up costing more. Muggles (our 13 year old kitty), was wasting away with moderate hyperthyroidism. We were able to get in for treatment within a month, and that was even with a delay having to do with FHTC needing to verify our kitty's blood pressure wasn't too high (they were being cautious, which I appreciated!). The staff at the center was extremely communicative throughout the process, from scheduling to post care. Dr. Vaughn was wonderful and reassuring. I really appreciated how everyone at FHTC was candid, yet comforting. Muggs gets very nervous at any vet, and they were very understanding of that and gentle with him. We were told we'd get a daily phone call between 9-10am with an update on how he was doing and that was exactly the case. The best part is - I've already seen an improvement in our cat only a couple weeks later. He's gained some weight back, especially around his spine, and he's not puking after eating any more (something he was doing previously after almost every meal since he was overeating due to feeling so hungry all the time). Thank you Dr. Vaughn and everyone at FHTC!

The staff was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind! I felt very safe leaving my sweet old man in their capable hands. They called every morning to assure me he was doing well, and now he's home safe and happy. This procedure is on the expensive side but VERY worth it for a cure to this terrible condition! Cheeto and I say thank you so much!
