Advertises that there is no wait. Unfortunately there is no wait to get on the waitlist, so you will spend a LOT of time filling out paperwork just to be ignored, bounced around, never updated, and literally not helped at all for many,MANY weeks.
Considering the delicate nature of this buisness, it would be easier to find someone else as your WISE or other youth mental health supports. 🤷🏾♀️
I want to update to state that since posting this review, You Grow Girl has refused to submit my child's records to SSI. Upon reflection I'm also realizing the director's response was made to make it seem as though I'd made some racist remarks, presumably she assumed I'm white. In reality, we had an all white therapy team who regularly said things like "that has nothing to do with race!" and were quite insensitive to our cultural values. I actually speak out quite a bit in our community about anti racism including using my small business as a platform. I would never use a racist remark and anyone who knows me can attest to that. Overall it's very sad and scary to know that a place people turn to for therapy is willing to lie and willing to withhold a child's medical information out of spite. What on earth is going on in this city that so many therapy agencies are so terrible? Please see my original review for more information.
This agency failed to meet their basic responsibilities to meet with my child weekly without cancelling last minute and went behind my back to break confidence and share sensitive information with people outside of the therapy group without my consent. When I attempted to follow up with and provide information about this to their director, Jamila, she at first ignored my emails then responded by asking me not to send any more messages "without context" although I had already provided her the context for which I was sharing my concerns multiple times. She then blocked me from emailing her again. In any other industry besides therapy refusing to hear client feedback would be considered gross negligence as it should. Why should mental health be any different? This agency is completely unethical and at best is severely afflicted by compassion fatigue. Parents beware.
