I’ve spent the last 15 years trying to get into Pilates but it never “took”- then I stumbled upon Pilates on 10th. This is such a great studio. Classes are small, so you get focus from your instructors. They are also varied and plentiful so you can always find what you need within your schedule. Lastly, there’s a very welcoming and non-intimidating vibe. Instructors are diverse in terms of age, gender and body types….as is the clientele. BONUS: take a late morning weekend class and then get brunch next door at De La Santa afterwards for a little treat.

Gordon's deep knowledge and enthusiasm for pilates makes him a remarkable teacher. He is able to tailor each practice to your body's needs to ensure their is steady progress towards your goals. I am a big fan of him and pilates on 10th.

Quaint small but mighty Pilates studio in north Capitol Hill right next to the 49 bus stop. This studio practices traditional mat and reformer Pilates and specializes in small class formats. The front desk staff and all the instructors are very nice and patient, and will walk around the room to correct form. The equipment was clean and in good condition. There is only one single stall bathroom but there usually isn't a long wait for it. It is clean and well-stocked. There are also some storage space to put your bags and shoes, but no lockers, although it is a small enough space that you can still keep your eyes on your belongings during your class. They currently have free community classes on Thursday evenings in February!
