I had to stop lessons for a bit but can't wait to go back. If you have an itch to learn to play something or get better and be part of a cool community, this is the place.“

My instructor Ben immediately understood my goals, and he always breaks down concepts in a way that feels approachable, exciting to practice, and creative. I feel so much more confident with music thanks to him. The owner Mike is also super quick to respond to any email. Highly recommend!!!“

He has taught me so much about many styles of Cuban drumming and with over 30 years of experience, he has so much more to offer. Also, he has helped with singing and dancing too, as they are also essential elements.“

From the very first day, my child absolutely loved it and showed so much interest! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the program is well organized that you can really feel how much they care about the kids. I originally came just to accompany my child’s lesson, but it made me want to learn too! I’m so happy to have found such a warm, genuine place with a wonderful teacher who really knows how to inspire and teach!“

He bounced a bit between wanting to do voice lessons or piano lessons or both, and she was completely understanding and didn't pressure him. She is always so calm and my son loves her sense of humor. It has been so fun seeing his progression with the piano - it's crazy how much he learned in just a year.
Adriane at the front desk is a sweetheart and is always welcoming and kind. We are taking a break from lessons (stupid Covid19) - but he still practices every day. We miss you guys and can't wait to see you again!“

“Sam is a great drum instructor. He's been teaching our 7 year old son and I'm amazed at his patience and the innovative ways he keeps our son engaged and motivated - and over Zoom no less.“

“I just finished 5 months of voice lessons here as a complete beginner, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My initial goal was simply to enjoy singing more in the car, on road trips, or in the shower—but with Aaron as my instructor, I not only met that goal, I now feel confident singing at public karaoke!
Aaron was fantastic at blending vocal education with practice. Every lesson combined clear explanations of singing concepts, warmups, and targeted exercises, along with constructive feedback. What stood out was his ability to not just point out differences between my voice and the original vocalist, but also explain how to get closer—linking specific adjustments back to the concepts he had taught me. That framework gave me tools I can use well beyond the songs we worked on together, and it made the progress both rewarding and practical.
The entire academy has been a joy to work with. The admin staff are friendly and helpful, scheduling is easy, parking nearby is free and stress-free, and the lesson costs are very reasonable given the value I’ve gained.
As an adult taking on a new passion, these lessons have added real meaning and joy to my daily routine. I highly recommend Ballard Academy of Music and Dance, and especially Aaron, to anyone considering voice lessons!“
