Just had my first dentist appt here. They are awesome and take Apple Health, and also do sliding scale for uninsured patients. Everyone was super nice and attentive, and went out of their way to explain things and make sure everything would be clear with insurance. Maybe the most serious about cleanliness and facilities hygiene of any dentist I've ever been to, plus all the staff were masked, was very good to see and felt super safe there. They also got me in for an appt sooner than the other Apple health options, and even got me in for a cleaning same-day as initial appointment. So glad I came here. Highly recommend to anyone putting off finding a dentist!

I wish I were writing a very different review, because many of the staff at this clinic are genuinely excellent.
People like Dr. Au, hygienists YuJeong and Guofang, along with the dental assistants, left a very positive impression on me. They are professional, civilized, efficient, and kind. They show that this clinic is fully capable of offering human-centered and respectful care. That is exactly why this review is disappointing to write.
My experience with Dr. Daniel Chang was quite the opposite.
This man does not listen. He speaks over you, argues, cuts you off repeatedly, and turns what should be a professional visit into a one-sided lecture. Why not? He already knows everything. Instead of asking questions and hearing the patient out, he behaves as if he already knows your situation, your habits, and the cause of your issue before you have even finished a sentence. He even teaches basic math. Maybe English too, someday.
You think there is a difference between giving medical advice and speaking to a patient with cynicism, resentment, disrespect, and baseless assumptions. Think again. With Dr. Chang, that difference seems to disappear. His tone was dismissive, accusatory, and unnecessarily arrogant. You think a dentist is supposed to evaluate, explain, and guide. What you are likely to experience with this man is far from that.
What made it worse is that the rest of the clinic showed me that professionalism and humane care are absolutely possible there. That is why I liked this clinic so much. So this feels like a personal provider issue, not an institutional culture issue. But I quit anyway.
Now, as an immigrant myself, I am fully aware of the struggle some foreign-born immigrants face in adapting to American tribeless-mentality. But living and working in America, especially in healthcare, requires more than technical credentials and language proficiency. It requires learning the discipline of listening, respecting the patient, and speaking with professionalism instead of ego or whatever hard-wired biases may be at work.
If you are assigned to Dr.Chang, I would strongly recommend requesting a different dentist.

I have used ICHS for about 2-3 years now. I have health insurance from my employer, but ICHS continually delivers such excellent service that I see no reason to go elsewhere. Having an excellent dental clinic next door and an integrated pharmacy is fantastic. It almost feels like you’re in Europe.
This place is so well run, and every staff member I’ve interacted with has been excellent. Truly a public good. More ICHS type clinics in America, please.

Honestly pleasantly surprised me after experience at other low income, primarily minority clinics. Other than the hard to understand accents, people keep reading my middle name as my last name and the fact that I'm the only one in the building that isn't Asian, they were pretty efficient with wait times, doctors and dentists are good and easier to understand, they respond to Mychart messages and the phones quickly. I highly prefer this clinic to the few I've been to down in the White Center, Burien areas.

This place e is pathetic. I was told to bring my daughter as an emergency to the dental clinic and when we got there we were told she didn't have an appointment and they could not see her. And then the clinic manager left early so I couldn't talk to anyone. Complete waste of time. Don't come here if you can go somewhere else!!!

Absolutely do not go here. This was my childhood clinic because my parents didn't know better. They always just tell you to go home and wait it out no matter your problem. This is the case with not only me but my entire family. My sister's condition was discovered until she was sent to the ER even though she was checked here throughout childhood and still at the time. My mom who lost mobility due to cancer was written a physical therapy appointment. When I questioned the doctor, she said my mom still had to go to the appointment. Since when did physical therapy cure cancer??!!
